New version 70 of WOCU-Monitoring
We are pleased to announce the release of WOCU-Monitoring version 70, a new update focused on improving operational efficiency, simplifying platform administration, and providing greater control over monitoring and configuration processes.
This release introduces significant enhancements to user and inventory management, more flexible navigation, advanced log filtering, and new tools for version tracking and system maintenance. It also includes improvements to data storage, security, and monitoring integrations.
Key Highlights
1. Improved Navigation and Configuration Management
The Configuration Module has been redesigned to provide a more intuitive and efficient user experience.
Detail and editing views now have their own dedicated URLs, replacing traditional pop-up windows. This allows users to share direct links to specific configurations, navigate using browser controls, and work across multiple tabs simultaneously.
Additionally, the Home view now includes category-based Realm filtering, making it easier to locate and manage monitoring environments in complex, multi-tenant infrastructures.
2. Greater Control Over SNMP Inventory Collection
Version 70 introduces granular control over SNMP inventory collection through the new Enable Inventory option.
Administrators can now enable or disable inventory collection for individual devices or apply this configuration through Templates, reducing unnecessary SNMP queries and optimizing resource consumption.
The SNMP inventory process has also been improved with automated daily execution and more flexible credential handling.
These enhancements provide greater control over inventory enrichment while reducing the operational impact on monitored devices.
3. User Management by Realm
A new User Management by Realm module simplifies user administration within individual monitoring environments.
Administrators can create users, manage roles and permissions, and enable or disable accounts directly from the corresponding Realm.
This functionality improves access control, strengthens the separation of responsibilities, and makes user administration more efficient in multi-tenant environments.

4. Advanced Log Filtering and Historical Data Optimization
The Events Logs view now includes enhanced Custom Filters, allowing users to combine nested conditions using logical operators such as AND and OR.
This makes it easier to build precise searches, reduce irrelevant results, and focus on the information needed for troubleshooting and operational analysis.
In addition, a new automated downsampling process for InfluxDB optimizes historical metric storage by consolidating older data into configurable time intervals.
Together, these improvements enhance data exploration and support more efficient storage management.

5. Centralized Version Tracking and System Maintenance
Keeping WOCU-Monitoring up to date is now easier thanks to the new Upgrades section, which provides information about the installed version, the latest available release, and its corresponding changelog.
A centralized Changelog Collection also brings together changes across the platform’s different components.
From an administration perspective, version 70 introduces backup and restoration commands through wocu-ctl, simplifying system recovery and maintenance procedures.
The platform’s built-in web server has also been migrated from Nginx to OpenResty, preparing the architecture for future security and automation capabilities.
6. New Monitoring Packs and Security Improvements
The monitoring catalogue continues to evolve with new capabilities:
Networkdevice-ping-by-hostname: availability monitoring for devices with dynamic IP addresses.
Fortigate support monitoring: proactive tracking of support contract expiration.
Encrypted macros: improved protection of sensitive credentials and tokens in supported monitoring packs.
SNMPv3 credential encryption: expanded secure credential storage across SNMP packs.
Network interface monitoring: more accurate alert handling based on administrative and operational interface states.
These enhancements extend monitoring coverage while improving security and operational reliability.
Continuing to Improve Your Monitoring Experience
With version 70, WOCU-Monitoring continues to evolve towards a more flexible, secure, and manageable monitoring platform.
From simplified configuration workflows and granular inventory control to improved data management and system administration, this release focuses on helping IT teams reduce operational complexity and manage their infrastructure more efficiently.
