New version 73 of WOCU-Monitoring

New version 73 of WOCU-Monitoring

We are pleased to announce WOCU-Monitoring Release 73, a new update focused on simplifying Observability administration, improving dashboards and metric visualization, and strengthening platform reliability.

This release introduces automated provisioning for Observability Realms, more interactive monitoring widgets, enhanced data export capabilities, and improvements to user permissions and multi-realm environments.

Automated Observability Realm Provisioning

One of the key improvements in Release 73 is the automatic creation of Observability Realms and their associated Kibana spaces.

This enhancement simplifies the initial provisioning process, reducing the manual configuration required to prepare new Observability environments.

A dedicated icon has also been introduced to make Observability Realms easier to identify within the platform.

These changes streamline administration and provide a more consistent experience when managing monitoring and Observability environments.

More Interactive Dashboards and Metrics

Release 73 enhances the visualization and exploration of monitoring data.

The default dashboard, previously known as WOCU Default View, has been renamed Realm Status and now includes additional trend charts to provide a clearer overview of infrastructure performance.

Metrics widgets in the Status view also support interactive time-range selection, allowing users to focus on specific periods and analyze metric evolution more efficiently.

Additional usability improvements make it possible to edit Status widgets on smaller screens, while the sidebar problem counter now updates automatically when the problems table is refreshed.

Together, these enhancements provide a more flexible and responsive monitoring experience.

Improved Filtering and Data Export

Data exploration and reporting workflows have also been enhanced.

The Aggregator Summary now supports filtering by multiple categories simultaneously, combining the selected criteria using AND logic to produce more precise results.

Configuration tables for Monitored Contacts, Host Business Processes (HBP), and Service Business Processes (SBP) now support CSV and JSON exports, simplifying data extraction and reuse.

Improvements have also been made to GConf exports, inventory reports, availability reports, and metric exports to increase the reliability of exported information.

Enhanced Access Control and User Management

Release 73 includes several adjustments to platform permissions and user administration.

Super Users benefit from expanded permissions within the Status view, while access to the Host Issue table is now controlled according to each user’s assigned permissions.

Additional corrections ensure that users receive a default permission and that report execution is restricted to authorized users.

These improvements contribute to more consistent access control across the platform.

Greater Reliability in Multi-Realm Environments

Several fixes focus on improving the consistency and reliability of WOCU-Monitoring in multi-realm environments.

Issues affecting the Capacity and Quality indicators in Health dashboards have been resolved, along with display and export problems in the Anomalies view.

The release also improves metric retrieval, service navigation, and the handling of large datasets in monitoring and audit tables.

These corrections help ensure that operators can access accurate information and work more efficiently across multiple monitoring environments.

Continuing to Improve Monitoring and Observability

With Release 73, WOCU-Monitoring continues to refine its monitoring and Observability capabilities, combining easier administration with improved data visualization, more reliable reporting, and stronger access control.

These improvements help IT teams manage complex infrastructures more efficiently while maintaining a consistent operational experience.
